My First Pedal.

And so this peeps- is my first ever distortion pedal that I've ever personally bought. This essentially means it's 'mine' and so like an excitable 8yr old I'm staring at it and touching it (the pedal come on now) lots. Yes.. I have no leads. Yes it's a bass distortion pedal BUT it sounds unfathomably Betamax for my home-made customised Les Paul 2-string guitar: http://yfrog.com/gzntwnrj

The lovely Brett Anderson came to see us play last night with his wife. After munching the finest baked potatoes I've ever had (and a bit of a life saver to be honest.. Might have been a bit merry) we headed off to Notting Hill Arts Club. I got to use my 'Fab Fuzz' for the first time and MY did it sound sexual!! The best £27.50 I've ever spent. Wonderful crowd, wonderful night and after deciding to pee before getting a McDonnalds at Paddington before the last train home (I had a 20min window before it arrived) I learnt the hard way that sometimes sensibility doesn't always result in success. By the time I wondered up to McDonnalds it had closed. There's no moral to the story but it at least explains the hangover and the smile on my face after an overall truly Betamax night.

Roll on the next show. NME Koko 15th April :)

MIDIMIDIS shows Thursday and Friday w/ Eddy Temple-Morris' LOSERS

We have two MEGA shows coming up on Thursday at The Queen of Hoxton and then Friday at The Grove with Xfm's Eddy Temple-Morris' LOSERS

Thursday is an incredible show at The Queen of Hoxton with some special guests and faces coming to soak up the chip-tune love.  You'd be KERazIe to miss this.

Mega party afterwards too peeps: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=131100756963463

We then plan to try our upmost to not party TOO hard till 6am like last time we played our sold-out sow with Losers and instead mix the live show and the album tracks the Friday morning with Tom Bellamy (Losers/The Cooper Temple Clause). Wish us luck..

For those of you following us on www.Twitter.com/MIDIMIDIS you'll have seen that Eddy Temple-Morris has announced this week that MIDIMIDIS will be supporting Losers this Friday at The Grove. This means you shall all be able to hear some new material and tweaks we've been making with the chip-tune in the past two months.

Haggis.

Went on a quest for to find real traditional Haggis today. I've done a De-Niro (Taxi Driver era) and driven all over Reading to find no shop selling it. However using inside intel. gained by the mighty DJ that is Chris Bounds my quest was not on vain and can report that my mission was wholly successful.

Saturday 19 March 2011

Just a normal Saturday in Reading.

How I managed to get 'started on' *twice* within 20 minutes in Reading town after 6 years of peace here I have NO idea!!

So yes, today I finally got to see my main man James' new flat which is georgeous. I was constantly aware of the potential of an unwanted hangover (resulting from Didz and my DJ set Friday night) and can thankfully say I succeeded in averting such a catastrophe in the end. We had a little wonder around Reading town to eventually meet Didz to pick up an old but cool apple-y computer machine.

Quote of the day I think has to be 'so are you a football fan or a rugby fan?' to the guy that started on me because he thought I was 'gay' despite him holding a blue WKD in his hand. At which point the police happened to walk past and I said 'hello guys, you might want to have a little chat with these fellas' and and we then wondered off to watch Prof. Brian Cox taking about The Wonders of the Stoner System: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30ruBtLIvJM&sns=tw

And that peeps, was my Saturday.

SUEDE'S BRETT ANDERSON loves MIDIMIDIS in NME Band Crushes 2011

SUEDE'S BRETT ANDERSON loves MIDIMIDIS in NME Band Crushes 2011

The nicest man in rock (Gary Numan is the nicest man in electro) has bigged us up in NME's New Band Tips 2011 edition p.15

You can see all the recommendations for 2011 here:

Thank you to all of you for being *so* patient- I can reveal that since signing to BMG we started to pick up from where we left off and have recorded one track a day with The Cooper Temple Clause's Tom Bellamy at the helm in his front room. Currently have 11 tracks done.

We also took over Universal's studios for two days with Mr Fogg and have physical/vinyl/digital double a-side coming out end of March/April.

Only one vocal to do for 'Kingdom of the Spiders' which has now turned into a 9 minute epic..!! Then the album is done. !!

I can't wait for you to hear this album it is like nothing you've ever heard but with bits of things you have.. :D If TCTC met The Strokes in a dark ally way with Nirvana watching and Sonic stroking his pointy blue hedgehog hair- THAT IS THE SOUND of the album! :D

We will be playing a few key shows in London one for BBC6 Music and some others so keep your eyes peeled before the tour.
